2014 has been a great year of herping for me! I spent most of my time in the North Carolina foothills & Sandhills. However I did take two trips to South Georgia, and north Florida. I wish I could have taken footage of everything, but I ran out of memory. My favorite finds would be Timber Rattlesnake, Eastern Coral Snake, or Eastern Indigo Snake from this year! Anyways, enjoy!!

Despite common disbelief Cottonmouths do NOT chase/attack people. If anything, they will try their best to escape.

Wouldn't you be in fear if a large, pink blob was suddenly standing over you? They just see us as a potential predator, and only try to get away. However if you corner one or stand it its path it will DEFEND itself, NOT "attack".

February 23, and while walking along a creek bank I spotted my first Snake of 2014, a decent size Northern Water Snake, with some nice colors also!

This is the first big rock quarry that was dug in the fifthys in Eden north Carolina 2 miles from my house
